A Whimsical Waterfront Fairytale: Katie & Dustin’s Big Day at The Estate on the Halifax

There is a certain kind of magic that only exists at The Estate on the Halifax. Between the historic charm of the Chapel in the Garden and the whimsical surprises hidden throughout the 10-acre property, it was the perfect setting for Katie and Dustin’s romantic May wedding.
As their coordinators at Weddings by Stephanie, we were honored to help bring every detail of this stunning day to life.

Romantic Details & Timeless Traditions
The day began with the beautiful bridal suite, captured perfectly by Jennifer Juniper Photography. Katie chose a soft palette of white and blue, with lush white peonies and delicate blue accents that carried through her bouquet and into the reception decor.

A Ceremony to Remember
The couple said their "I dos" in the iconic wooden chapel, a space that feels both grand and incredibly intimate. From the bird’s-eye view of their walk back up the aisle to the quiet, romantic portraits in front of the altar, the love between Katie and Dustin was palpable.
A Celebration Full of Character
One of our favorite things about The Estate on the Halifax is its unique photo ops. Katie and Dustin took full advantage, posing on the property’s miniature railroad tracks—a nod to the venue’s eclectic and historic charm.

The celebration continued in the Tavern, where the room was transformed with elegant white draping and warm, glowing light. Guests were treated to a classic "Just Married" cake and a night of dancing under the grand chandelier.

The Perfect Send-Off
The night concluded with a high-energy sparkler exit, a favorite tradition that never fails to provide that "happily ever after" glow. Watching Katie and Dustin head off into their new life together surrounded by their favorite people was the perfect end to a flawless day.

Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Theme

A Bridgerton-inspired wedding draws from the Netflix series Bridgerton, set in the opulent Regency era, blending romance, elegance, and historical charm.

A romantic, vintage-inspired wedding featuring dreamy floral prints, ruffles, lace, and pastel colors, evoking a soft, Victorian vibe.

  • Theme and Aesthetic: Think lavish, romantic, and vintage with a modern twist. The vibe channels early 19th-century England with pastel color palettes (soft pinks, blues, lavenders, mint greens), gold accents, and luxurious textures like velvet, silk, and lace. Regency-era details such as empire-waist gowns, floral motifs, and candlelit ambiance are key.
  • Venue: Grand, historic venues like castles, stately homes, or gardens with manicured lawns and fountains. Outdoor settings with lush greenery or ballrooms with chandeliers evoke the Bridgerton estate or London high society.
  • Attire: Brides often choose flowing, empire-waist dresses with delicate lace, embroidery, or floral appliqués, inspired by Daphne Bridgerton’s elegance. Grooms wear tailored suits or morning coats in navy, ivory, or black, often with waistcoats and cravats. Bridesmaids in mismatched pastel gowns and floral crowns add whimsy.
  • Décor: Extravagant floral arrangements (roses, peonies, wisteria) drape arches, tables, and ceremony spaces. Crystal chandeliers, candelabras, gold-rimmed glassware, and vintage china create a regal tablescape. Details like wax-sealed invitations, calligraphy, and ribbon-tied programs nod to the era.
  • Food and Drink: A refined menu with high tea-inspired elements like scones, finger sandwiches, and petit fours. Signature cocktails (e.g., lavender-infused champagne) and a tiered wedding cake with floral or pearl details fit the aesthetic.
  • Entertainment: Live classical music, string quartets, or a harpist for the ceremony, transitioning to a lively ballroom dance (waltz or quadrille) for the reception. A modern playlist with orchestral covers of pop songs (like in the show) adds a playful touch.
  • Vibes and Details: Emphasize romance and storytelling—think love letters as favors, a “society papers” guestbook inspired by Lady Whistledown, or a dramatic first dance under twinkling lights. Subtle nods to the show, like naming tables after characters, keep it thematic without being costumey.

This style suits couples who want a blend of historical grandeur and modern romance, creating an immersive, fairy-tale-like experience. If you want specific ideas tailored to a budget, venue, or vibe, let me know!
